atölyemekan is an initiative started by architect Selim Atak in 2019 with the aim of generating competition projects. For two years, it operated as a collaborative system where designers came together virtually.

In 2022, after laying the foundations with Yakın Ayan, a new workspace was established, seeking an ideal working environment suitable for the new order following the remote working habits. This workspace is designed to be shared by both the designers and other professional groups. As a result, the virtual initiative based on generating architectural ideas has transformed into a physical space where various professional groups collaborate together.
